Small Group Tours by Appointment
Museum curators offer tours in both the Schoolhouse and Pioneer Museums to small groups by appointment. The museums can be seen on the same day or booked separately. If booked separately, there will be a cost for the second day.
Length: 45 minutes for each museum
Availability: September to June on Thursdays and Fridays.
Cost: $5/person (minimum number in the group is 4 people)
The Schoolhouse Museum is fully wheelchair accessible. Maximum occupancy is 12 visitors. The Pioneer Museum is partially accessible.
Schoolhouse Museum Visit
A presentation of what it was like to attend Metchosin Schoolhouse between 1872 and 1914.
Activities: Use of a dip pen for cursive writing, instruction on how to work a “button spinner”, and interpretation of museum displays.
Pioneer Museum Tour
Includes interpretation of the Rocky Point Stagecoach; historical artifacts from a pioneer kitchen, bedroom, and parlour; early photographs; and farm and logging implements.
